All orders have been delivered as of October 30. If you ordered and did not receive an email with instructions how to download, please check your spam/junk folder and then contact us.
The 2024 EVG Convention Replay, Available Now!
Thanks to our licensing partnership with Spin Broadcast Networks, the 2024 EVG convention was live-streamed. The replay is available now for on-demand viewing. While 3-day passes are available ($30), a monthly subscription ($35/mo, cancel anytime) is a better value to watch even more, including the 2022 and 2023 contests, and other regional barbershop content. Sign up at tv.SilentKnightStudio.com (Content is not licensed for download or re-post).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Thank you for ordering your video and/or photos from the event. We get a lot of questions about when they will be ready, how to download them, etc. I completely understand the excitement and anticipation. I’ll try to answer the most frequently asked questions here. If you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
How can I watch the events LIVE on my computer or mobile device?
Purchase a 3-day pass ($30) or a monthly subscription ($35/mo) to our online broadcast network. The 3-day pass begins when you purchase, so please do not purchase too far in advance. The events will be available for replay on the same platform as early as one week following the event. If you wish to watch them again, please consider choosing a monthly subscription for $5 more, instead of a 3-day pass. (Automatic renewal, cancel anytime) There is lots of other barbershop content to view on-demand on the same channel. tv.silentknightstudio.com
Is the EVG District providing free passes to watch the live stream?
For the 2024 Convention, EVG offered a limited number of 3-day passes to non-attending chapters who offered to host “watch parties” for their members, to encourage participation of ALL chapters in the events, even if a chorus could not attend for logistical reasons.
I purchased a pass or subscription. Can I download the performances from the livestream or the replay?
No, due to licensing restrictions these are only viewable on the subscription platform. Contestants may still purchase a downloadable copy of their own performance using the “Order Now” button above.
I did not purchase a pass or subscription. Can I still order our individual performance to use as we like?
Yes, use the form above to purchase your downloadable video files and photos. Deadline to order is one week after the convention, and will be delivered electronically in 2-3 weeks (as soon as edited, actually).
Can I use PayPal or Venmo to order my videos?
Sorry, we no longer do business with PayPal or Venmo. We now use Stripe for all online transactions. (NOTE: Passes and subscriptions for the livestream and replay are handled on a different platform).
Does each member of our chorus/quartet need to purchase the video?
No, you are free to share with your members, but you are also free to purchase multiple copies. Please coordinate with your members ahead of time if you do not wish to purchase multiple copies. You can also get together with your chorus mates to split the cost of videos and photos (one transaction please). (Please remember that the videos are for the performers’ personal educational and archival use. Posting them online or sharing with others requires a synchronization license from each song’s composer and publisher.)
My quartet was in the finals. Do I get that video too?
If you would like both performance videos, please select “add second round performance +$25” on the order form. Otherwise you will receive only the first round video.
If I pre-pay for my finals video but don’t make the finals, will you refund me?
I like your confidence (pre-order for finals), but in such a case, I would prefer that you do not order until the finalists are announced, as the vendor (us) still pays for the full original transaction fees. Orders are open for one week after the event.
How do I download my videos and photos?
When they are ready, you will receive an email with a private download link. Please download your files no later than Christmas.
I ordered photos. Does that include our photobooth shots?
No. The photos you purchased are stills from your performance, delivered electronically. You may purchase your photobooth shots (without the commemorative template) from at SilentKnightStudio.com/evgphotos. If you did not receive your free souvenir photo, please contact us and we’ll send it to you.
If I ordered quartet photos, does that include both the prelim and finals performances?
No. When photos are pre-ordered, they are captured from the prelims performance as part of the editing workflow.
I only want ONE photo, not five. Is there a discount?
No. Five different stills from your performance for one low price as an add-on to your video order. Get together with your quartet or chorus and split the cost if that helps.
When will they be ready?
For the October Convention, please allow 2-3 weeks. We try our hardest to get them done sooner, so this is an outside date.
Can I purchase a copy of the complete event, with everyone’s performance?
Sorry, no. BHS contest rules and copyright restrictions. Only a recording of your own performance meets “fair use” standards. Please consider subscribing to our private broadcast network to view the replay of the live event. tv.SilentKnightStudio.com
I get a message “[the file] exceeds the maximum file size that Google can scan. This file might harm your computer, so only download this file if you understand the risks.” What should I do?
I render the videos in full HD at a high bandwidth with studio-quality sound. This makes the files quite large, but I assure you it’s safe to download. If you still encounter problems, let me know and I’ll render it again in a more friendly file size (with slightly reduced quality).
Can I post my performance on YouTube, Facebook, etc?
Strictly speaking, the recordings are provided for your personal archival and educational use. It’s up to you to clear the necessary copyrights for any other use, such as online sharing. While I grant you use of the audio/video recordings, use of the songs (synchonized to video) need to be cleared with the composers and publishers for mechanicals, sync, performance and broadcast rights. Check out https://wearethehits.com for one possible (and simple) solution. Otherwise, contact the publisher listed on your sheet music. You can usually find their contact info by searching for the song at https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/
Thanks again for your order, and GREAT JOB to everyone!
